Founding Principles

The Cloud Nation designs and hosts public competitions and hackathons intended to encourage technological development to benefit humanity.

Our mission is to bring about "radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity" through a globally united community of peacekeepers, scientists, investors, design-thinkers, entrepreneurs and victims of crimes and survivors of different kinds.

The Cloud Nation fosters high-profile competitions to motivate individuals, companies and organizations across all disciplines to develop innovative, fundable, bottom-up ideas and technologies that help solve the world's grand challenges on scalable levels.

Our international partners aim  to create opportunities regardless of borders and cultural or social-economic barriers.

We develop concepts and ideas that enable corporate and individual partners to get involved with distressed communities by using the technologies, tools and synergies they have created.

We base our doings on the collaborative belief that we are all in the same boat.

To promote this idea, we run offline workshops around the world in which we invite stakeholders to join forces in the development of a gameplan for the upheaval of a region.

To change the paradigm of the narrative linked to the refugee crisis in Europe, Startupboat created a physical hub called the Pythagoras Academy, at the birthplace of Pythagoras, 1000 meters from the Turkish border on the Greek island of Samos.

We work with international partners who help the local community innovate and grow a base of knowledge in the fields of waste management, recycling, English language, financial technologies, healthcare, culinary arts, basic networking and digital skills.

Google for entrepreneurs has become a strong partner on campus to exchange knowledge and develop ideas further on the best possible ways to engage with distressed communities – especially in light of the refugee crisis in Europe, 1000 meters from the Turkish border in Europe.

Locations

The founding principles of the collective testing-locations of the Cloud Nation are referred to as "The Cloud Law".

The Cloud Law is based on the theory of relativity of Albert Einstein, who said that, every observer is entitled to their own relative perception of reality.

Lead by these rules of respect, all "Cloud Citizens" of the Cloud Nation try to remain respectful of each others' differences  while supporting one another to help achieve the most useful achievements for the benefits of humanity.

The effective coordination of data across regions for the benefit of humanity is referred to as "Datanomics".
